Joint Lab Bioelectronics - News

Research assistent - salery grade TV-L 13 Berliner Hochschulen

Within the BMBF-funded project "Microelectronic system for cell separation - SepaDiElo", systems for dielectrophoretic cell separation are to be developed. The interdisciplinary project is a cooperation between two chairs of TU Berlin and the IHP Leibniz Institute for innovative microelectronics.

Separation of microalgae - Poster contribution Microsystems Technology Congress 2019

Microalgae are producers of polyunsaturated fatty acids, which are becoming more and more important for biofuel production, in the development of pharmaceuticals or in food and feed industry. The Joint Lab Bioelectronics team is developing a lab-on-chip system for the separation of mainly lipid-containing, adult cells by dielectrophoresis. Dielectrophoresis makes use of the polarizability of particles in inhomogeneous electric fields in order to separate them with corresponding microfluidic systems. With this contribution, the participating scientists were able to successfully apply for a poster contribution for “MikroSystemTechnik Kongress 2019”.

Visitors to the 8th MikroSystemTechnik Congress, dated 28 to 30 October 2019,  at the ESTREL Hotel in Berlin can learn more about this topic. Further information: https://www.mikrosystemtechnik-kongress.de/

Regular Course "Internet & Privacy"

Tracking techniques are massively being used for the monitoring of internet users, which makes the question of data privacy an important point for medical implants and bioelectronic systems. The used tracking techniques are widely unknown, and a course „Internet and Privacy“ has thus been set up in order to enhance public reception and to develop approaches towards privacy-secured bioelectronic systems. The course is organized by an interdisplinary team of scientists from TUB faculties III and IV (and will be given in German language, except for the last talk).
